When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Police said he died at the scene.

Fortney was charged with murder and two counts of wanton endangerment in connection to the shooting.

The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Garland Avenue just before 10 p.m.

The shooting happened on June 14, 2025 in the 1600 block of Bulger Court, near South 11th Street, around 8:35 p.m.

It's under investigation.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Bulger Court, near South 11th Street, around 8:35 p.m. 

Last Wednesday, LMPD responded to a "person down" in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Road about 9:45 p.m. That's not far from E. Indian Trail. 

Brown said there are no suspects.

It happened around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of South 13th Street.
