One person was injured Friday in a major fire in Fern Creek.

MetroSafe said the call came in about 4:45 p.m. Monday of a fire at the McDonald's at 3304 Bardstown Road, near the Budgetel Inn.

Firefighters were called to the Stone Bluff Subdivision just before 10:30 p.m. on reports of heavy flames and smoke.

The Okolona Fire Department gave a quick response to the scene as they were located right next door to the home.

Mt. Washington Fire Department and Fern Creek Fire were dispatched to a garage fire that expanded to the house. Firefighters had to set up rural water supply because a hydrant wasn't close by.
