Officers believe the man was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and was ejected from the bike.

According to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis, the crash happened just after 7:00 p.m. on Seventh Street Road at Wurtele Avenue. 

Police said the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Applegate Lane near Joyce Drive when the person lost control.

The crash was reported in the southbound lanes, near the Louisville Muhammed Ali International Airport.

Police said a van was traveling east on Valley Station Road and hit a pedestrian in the roadway who was walking in the eastbound lane.

The woman was attempting to cross the street when she was hit.

No charges are expected and LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation, due to the severity of the male's injuries.

Louisville Metro Police officers were called to 7th and Broadway at 9:38 p.m. Friday on a report that a pedestrian had been hit.

The man was hit by an unknown vehicle around 7:30 a.m.
