Riley is the son of LMPD Officer Zachary Cottongim.

Cottongim was a seven-year veteran with LMPD and leaves behind a wife and two young sons.

Tunnel to Towers said it paid off 22 homes in 16 different states so far this year.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, along with several other officials, marked the somber day in Richmond.

It was an emotional ceremony with family members of the officers in attendance.

Cottongim was 29 years old when he died Dec. 19 after a car hit him on Interstate 64.
