The VA hopes to break ground on the site by the end of the year on the $840 million project that will take nearly five years to complete.
A letter sent out Thursday said that blasting at the Brownsboro Road location will start on Dec. 1 and is expected to continue for five to six months.
The $180 million site will replace the existing Robley Rex VA Medical Center near Mellwood Avenue and River Road.Â
