LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 8-year-old from southern Indiana is showing off his golf skills on the national stage.
Remington Powers of Salem, Indiana, won the Under Armour Junior Nationals Golf Tournament for 6- to 8-year-olds last week. The tournament was held at the PGA National in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The West Washington School Corporation congratulated Powers on its Facebook page on Saturday.Â
Powers finished 8 under par and won by 4 shots.
Remington's mother, Rachel, said he's been obsessed with golf since he was a baby and has played in countless tournaments.
To qualify for Nationals, he needed to average below a 49 in six tournaments in southern Indiana.
Remington's average was a 37 this spring.
He also qualified for Worlds, and will play that at the end of July in Orlando.
