LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Skyy Clark, who led Louisville in scoring at 13.2 points per game last season, has told On3Sports.com that he plans to enter transfer portal.

Clark transferred to Louisville from Illinois, where an injury cut short his freshman season after 13 games. He signed there as a 5-star recruit out of Monteverde Academy.

The sophomore scored a career-high 29 points in Louisville’s sixth game, a win over New Mexico State. On the season, he shot 32.4 percent from three point range (40 of 124) and 39.5 percent overall from the field.

“I’d like to thank Louisville for this experience and appreciate their trust in me as a leader of this program,” Clark said in a statement to On3. “I grew both as a player and person during my time under Kenny Payne and his staff. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that was given to me. As the Cardinals search for their next head coach, I feel it’s my responsibility to keep my options open as I consider what’s best for my basketball future.

He is the sixth Louisville player to enter the portal since the dismissal of head coach Kenny Payne. Freshmen Kaleb Glenn, Dennis Evans and Curtis Williams have filed paperwork, along with senior JJ Traynor and junior transfer Danilo Jovanovich.

Louisville’s coaching search continues, after centering for a time on Baylor’s Scott Drew, who said he’s committed to Baylor, and Dusty May, who on Sunday become coach at Michigan. Seton Hall’s Shaheen Holloway appears to remain under consideration, with Indiana State’s Josh Schertz and Arkansas’ Eric Musselman perhaps re-entering the picture.
