CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Clarksville's police and fire departments are going head-to-head, raising money for a good cause.
The two agencies started battling in the "Lights and Ladders" challenge on Friday at the Walmart on Veterans Parkway.
They're each set up at separate entrances to the store.
The goal is to see who can raise the most money for Norton Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network.
But it's not just about the kids they're helping — it's also about engaging with kids in the community.
"Most of us have little ones, or grandkids," Lt. Fred Spencer, with the Clarksville Fire Department, said. "We like to see the smiles on their faces, make their day."
The challenge picks back up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
