LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- BlueOval SK has opened its new executive office space in Elizabethtown that will serve as a recruiting center for its new battery park.
The BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale is expected to bring 5,000 jobs to the area. The 51,000-square-foot executive office is located on Ring Road.
"Having our business offices in Elizabethtown allows us to build a greater connection to many of our partners, suppliers, and the people of Hardin County,"Â BlueOval SK CEO Dr. Robert Rhee said in a news release.
An open house is being held for elected officials and members of the business community on Nov. 14 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.Â
Anyone interested in applying for positions is encouraged to attend a job fair at 2323 Ring Road on Nov. 14 from 3:30-6 p.m. According to a news release, human resource representatives will be available to answer questions and accept applications.
"We’re excited to ramp up hiring in the upcoming year at the BlueOval SK battery plant in Kentucky," BlueOval SK Human Resources Director Neva Burke said in a news release. "We offer great pay, great benefits, plus the opportunity to have a good career and support your family."
The first plant, known as Kentucky 1, is still on track to open with 2,500 employees in 2025. But the production start for the second plant, originally scheduled for 2026, is now uncertain. BlueOval SK will finish building it, but it’s unclear when the plant will start making batteries.
