New Albany's Schmitt Furniture celebrates 89 years with free concert on July 11

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For 89 years, Schmitt Furniture has been doing business on what has become known as the "furniture corner of State and Main" in New Albany, Indiana.

Now, the business is inviting everyone to celebrate its 89th anniversary with a free concert bash at Riverfront Amphitheater on July 11, according to a news release Wednesday.

The celebration will feature live music from JAKJAW and The Juice Box Heroes. The fun starts at 6 p.m. at the Riverfront Amphitheater at 100 E. Water St. in New Albany.

"The Birthday Bash allows the store to celebrate its anniversary with the community and provide the city a fun night out," Schmitt Furniture owner Louis Schmitt said in the release. "This is our way of saying thank you to the community for believing in us and supporting us, and a major portion of the sales of food and drinks will support a local nonprofit organization that provides furniture for people in need."

JAKJAW takes the stage at 6 p.m., followed by The Juice Box Heroes at 8 p.m.
