Shooting at The Bend apartments in Clarksville, Ind.

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- The Clarksville Police Department is making a public appeal for information as investigators continue searching for suspects after a weekend shooting at an apartment complex left four people injured over the weekend.

The department posted a request for help on its Facebook page Monday morning.

The shooting happened late Friday night during a party at the Bend Apartment complex in the 1900 block of Greentree Blvd. Police believe more than 100 people were at the party, and that the crowd became more unruly as the night continued.

Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls said shots were fired inside the apartment just before midnight. The Chief called it a "shootout," and said four people -- ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old -- were injured. Police said they confiscated two guns at the scene and have identified two suspects, who are still on the run.

"It appears to be somewhat of a shootout," Walls said. "This could have been a lot worse. It's a miracle we don't have fatalities."

Police said a woman in her 20s, who was an employee at the apartment complex, hosted the party. Walls said he expects her to face charges.

Walls said police responded within two minutes of the shooting.
