LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with the murder of a woman at Westport Village in June.

According to court documents, 38-year-old James Booher was arrested by officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department Tuesday morning. He's charged with facilitation of murder in connection with the June 30, 2023 killing of Ashley Yates.

Police say Yates was gunned down by her ex-boyfriend, Zachary Hines. She was found outside a store in Westport Village in the 1300 block of Herr Lane at about 8 p.m. on Friday, June 30, suffering from a gunshot wound. Yates was rushed to UofL Hospital, where she died.

Police later said in an arrest report that Hines died by suicide on July 1.

On Sept. 26, police arrested Booher in connection with the crime. According to court documents, 20 minutes before the shooting, Booher sent Hines a photo of Yates' location.

That photo was sent to Hines' Facebook account, from a Facebook user identified as "Lee Him." Police said they traced the "Lee Him" account to Booher.

When police executed a search warrant on the Facebook account, they allegedly found messages from Booher to another person telling them he was on a  "recon mission" to conduct surveillance on Yates  because Hines "had an issue with her."

Police say surveillance video shows Booher fleeing the scene of the shooting on a skateboard.

Booher is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections. He's scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 27.
