LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — You can buy unique experiences all while supporting those who keep Churchill Downs running.

The Backside Learning Center, a nonprofit that provides resources for racetrack workers, is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year, "Benefit for the Backside: A Day at the Races," on Nov. 21 at 12 p.m.

Those in attendance will be treated to an exciting day watching the races from The First Turn Club at Churchill Downs.

The event will include a live auction, with items to bid on including:

  • A morning on the backside and breakfast at Wagner's with Derby 151 winning trainer Bill Mott
  • A week-long stay at an ocean-front villa on the south Florida coast
  • A 3-day cozy cabin getaway near New York City
  • A weekend trip for four with hotel included at Del Mar Racetrack
  • A morning on the backside during Derby 152 week with Derby and Oaks-winning jockey Brian Hernandez and FanDuel Analyst Caton Bredar

The fundraiser will also have a silent auction for those who can't attend in person. Some once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to bid on include an all-inclusive Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby 152 box for six, pickleball lessons with Top 25 Player in the World, Alex Crum, and a weekend getaway at the historic Parker's Landing in Springfield, Kentucky.
