About 100 people gathered at the Jackson County Courthouse on Tuesday along with the family of Ta'Neasha Chappell.
"For me to know she spent her last 24 hours in pain and suffering is just, there are no words for it," Chappell's brother Jeffontae McClain said. "It's unfathomable. I don't know how people could really listen to her cry out for help and could see she was withering away just not care."
About three dozen people showed up at the Jackson County Courthouse Tuesday morning to talk about the death of an inmate during a routine county commissioners meeting.
