LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Versailles man who showed up at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in 2021 armed with guns and explosives has been sentenced. 

Bryan Carroll, 46, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of carrying an explosive in November 2023, and has been sentenced to 15 years. He was facing a maximum sentence of 20 years. 

Officials said Carroll was headed for the hospital's emergency room, but officers stopped him at the entrance. Police located a total of eight firearms, four explosive devices and an improvised bomb in his vehicle.

After his arrest, Carroll admitted to having more devices at his home in Versailles. Police got a search warrant and located two additional firearms as well as six other improvised explosives.
