LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville nonprofit kicked off its fourth year of educational instruction on Saturday.
The Future Healers program held a white coat laboratory ceremony to mark the beginning of the 2024-25 curriculum.
Christopher 2X's Game Changers has devoted resources to supporting children impacted by gun violence with the Future Healers program, which is a partnership between the Game Changers, UofL Hospital's Trauma Institute and students at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

The goal of the program is to help Louisville children who have been impacted by violence in their neighborhoods to build a better future.Â
Dozens of children are participating in the program this year. On Saturday, they visited the Kosair For Kids Clinical Transitional Research Laboratory building.Â
Last month, the Future Healers celebrated its third anniversary. The program released the Future Healers Journey to Wellness Personal Journal this summer. It's a 100-page book that blends fun and learning activities for a unique resource that focuses on wellness and health sciences.
