LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police finished second in an annual contest that honors the nation's best-looking police cruiser.

KSP and Indiana State Police entered the American Association of State Troopers (AAST) "2024 Best Looking Cruiser Contest." The competition includes state law enforcement agencies from across the country.

For KSP, this year's entry celebrates the state's horse industry. The photo features a 2024 Ford Mustang GT in front of the Secretariat statue in a roundabout at Alexandria Drive and Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington.

Florida Highway Patrol won the contest for second year in a row. Florida's submission collected 28,995 votes.

KSP's submission received 26,091 votes, good for second place and well ahead of Nevada in third place with 17,511 votes.

The top 14 states with the most votes make the 2025 wall calendar. The calendars will go on sale in October and can be purchased to benefit American Association of State Troopers.

Indiana State Police used a photo of the eclipse as it passed through Indianapolis. ISP ranked 27th with 2,277 votes.

Prior to this year, KSP had placed in the top five in each of the past six years.
