Crews finished the work earlier than expected, meaning the 14-day closure will only last 10 days.

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 over the Sherman Minton Bridge will close the night of Nov. 11 and at 5 a.m. Monday.

KYTC said this is a federally-mandated inspection that will determine if any repairs are needed.

Despite an event-filled weekend, project officials say they don't expect the closure to cause major delays.

Crews will be removing paint containment systems and platforms.

INDOT is in the early planning stages of adding lanes on Interstate 64, between Cherry Street and U.S. 150 in both directions in southern Indiana.

All lanes of Interstate 65 South on the Kennedy Bridge were closed just after 1 p.m. Tuesday when five semi trucks crashed into each other.

The construction is expected to be completely finished this fall.

Temporary barrier walls have been set up and some lanes have been repainted to keep direction changes as clear as possible. 

Road crews will begin setting up barrier walls, install temporary lane striping and pour new pavement in preparation for future work.
