LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A woman wanted in connection with an ongoing animal cruelty investigation turned herself in to authorities Wednesday.

Louisville Metro Police said in an update Wednesday that 35-year-old Destiny Morgan was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of torturing a dog or cat.

LMPD posted on social media Tuesday that Morgan was wanted in connection with an investigation being conducted by Animal Cruelty Enforcement and Louisville Metro Animal Services.

According to police, LMAS received a call that there were dead dogs inside a Louisville home.

Inside the home, officers found trash, mouse and dog feces throughout and two dogs that had been dead for a while.

Police said they needed to find Morgan so the case could move forward.

Court documents state on March 7, 2025, police found both dogs starved to death, with one found inside a crate lying on glass and the other tied to a stair railing by a leash.

The second dog weighed just 0.66 pounds.

Morgan appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. According to court documents, her $5,000 bond was posted and she has to report Friday for the home incarceration program.
