LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is suing the gaming and social media platform Roblox.

In a lawsuit filed Monday, Coleman accuses Roblox of knowingly creating a playground for predators to distribute child sexual abuse material and groom child victims.

Nearly two-thirds of all kids in the U.S., between the ages of nine and 12, play games on the platform, Coleman said.

"Public reports have show Roblox has become an environment for predators and other bad actors, including with so-called 'assassination simulators' following the horrific killing of Charlie Kirk as well as with extremist sextortion groups that have extorted, threatened, and even conspired to kill children as young as eight," Coleman's office said in a news release Monday.

While the lawsuit was filed by Coleman Monday, he's holding a news conference Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Frankfort to talk about it publicly.

The company was valued at $41 billion when it went public in 2021.
