LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell addressed a group of Louisville business leaders Tuesday, and one issue he discussed was the age of the presidential candidates.
He attended Greater Louisville Inc.'s Capitol Connection series, which gives local business leaders the chance to hear from elected officials.
"As you can imagine, it's not my favorite issue," McConnell said. "But the two candidates are almost the same age so it's going to be really interesting to see how they play off each other."
The 82-year-old senator has also faced scrutiny about his age. He had two episodes last summer where he froze up while speaking in public.
McConnell announced in February he would step down from Senate leadership at the end of the year. He's the longest serving Senate leader in history.
