International Paper to permanently close in Louisville by January

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville container packing facility will close its doors next year.

International Paper will close by January. The business near Appliance Park has 93 employees, who have been notified of the closure.

The company said it's working to soften the blow through retirements, attrition, and open positions at other facilities.

Affected workers will also receive outplacement serves, mental health support and severance benefits.

International Paper is also closing its Compton, California, facility.
